Sorell Prayer Points 30/04/09
Praise God:
- For the stronger connections now being made, simply by being more available in my office;
- That I have a strong mentor relationship, which is helping me (and my Chaplaincy) grow;
- For the rains that have fallen in our region, with so many families depending on it;
- [That I was able to retrieve this document just now, after fearing I had lost it!!!];
- For the still strong connections with past students - that I can still be an influence in their lives;
- For the student who was able to talk a friend into telling the truth and facing the consequences;
- For the student openly discussing his recent commitment with other staff members.
Please Pray:
- For the current social skills theme "Leave it at the Gate", as we try to teach the students about appropriate time and place;
- For the too-many students suffering because of home issues - that there will be people to catch them as they fall;
- For the staff, as they learn to deal with the too-many issues;
- That I can find a balance between allowing students to spend time with me, and knowing when they need to be in their class;
- For the student who made a recent commitment - that he will have all the support he needs from his local church, that he will grow in his new Christian Life, and that his life will reflect his new-found Love;
- For the staff members applying for higher positions - that God will place the right person in the right job;
- For the School Production, as I try to help to keep the teacher sane, and students focussed - that all will be ready on time;
- For me, as I start to do the rounds of the local Churches again - for open hearts and willing hands for all the help we need;
- For the endless possibilities!
Thank you so much! May God bless you as well, for your faithfulness to Him and to us...
Naomi :-)

Sorell - Prayer Points 19/05/09
Praise God: For the successful appointments of staff into higher 'acting' positions in the school; For the strong relationships being built, especially with staff members; That my office is a place of refuge for those needing to escape; For the opportunity to 'escape' this coming weekend; For God providing opportunities to be in just the right place at just the right time... Please Pray: For the staff member needing hospital treatment: that God will take away her fears... for peace and comfort, for healing, for rest... She has such a beautiful heart, I don't like to see her suffering; For other staff members with ongoing health problems: that they will receive the right treatment, and will feel peace as their bodies heal; For the staff members taking on higher positions: that they will have the confidence to perform to their best ability, and that they will receive the respect due their new positions; For S as she struggles to find her place, and acts out in school; For her Grandmother struggling to cope with her behaviour (but praise God that she loves her so much); For J, unhappy with his home life, but feeling powerless to do anything about it; For the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (from New Mexico), coming to the school next week and performing their life story through drama: that their message will be heard, and that they will be able to make strong connections with the students. For the Grade 9 students: that they will finally 'get it'... And that I will have the patience and compassion to just love them until they do! Thank you so much for your prayers, and may God bless you for your faithfulness to this ministry... Naomi McGlone :-)

Back to School...
Praise God:
- For the SU camps that occurred during the holidays; for the opportunities to minister to so many children; for the willing helpers that made it all possible.
Please pray:
- For the Chaplains who have returned to school this week after having some 'time off'... Many Chaplains would still have been catching up on work during this time, but the chance to take a breather away from the school environment and all its responsibilities is so important - Pray that they will be coming back refreshed and full of eagerness to tackle God's next project for them!
- For protection from the latest 'pestilence' threatening our shores; that wisdom will prevail amongst the authorities and the general population; and especially that SU workers will be kept free from this flu (It wouldn't look good if someone caught the 'swine flu' from a Chaplain or the SU CEO!).
God bless you in your faithfulness... :-)

Sorell - Prayer Points 02/06/09
Praise God:
For the Fellowship of Christian Athletes from New Mexico, who visited our area and our School last week - for the input they were able to have into the spiritual health of many.
Please pray:
For the youth in our area striving to learn about their spiritual nature - that they will have their questions answered;
For FCA, as they travel to Cooma this week and then home - that they will have protection wherever they go; and for L, who is seriously considering whether to come back to Tassie in the future to work further with our youth
Thank you for your faithfulness. It is through your prayers that the Spirit of God will move... Keep up the Good Work!!!
Naomi McGlone :-)

That's wonderful news for you all, Christine... How exciting for you as you continue to prepare for this amazing adventure!
:-)
:-)
I think it is wonderful how you guys have been able to work together down your way... I'm hoping it can be repeated many times over in other areas... And I know of a few others that are going to be ready to pick your brain re how to run Blokes in their school...
Well done!

Well done!

Keep sharing your experiences, Christine... It is so uplifting each week to read what you have been up to - especially when we can't catch up for a chat... It makes me feel good that things are going so well over there, when I feel a little 'flat' about what's happening (or not happening) in the High School... I know that God is working with me, but sometimes it would be nice to see evidence of my usefulness! So instead of being gloomy about it, I will just bask in your success for a while, and know that the Angels are just a little busy over that side of the oval for a while...

Wow!!! That's amazing that God is just blessing that group so much...
I am reminded of the statement by Joseph to his brothers that "You meant it for harm, but God meant it for good" (or something along that line...)... When there were complaints about the noise in the Library, it felt like a bad thing at the time... But instead it led to you getting a better location!
I love the way God works, even through the 'bad'...
